RUF briquettes is a type of compressed fuel made from various biomass materials, such as wood chips, sawdust, agricultural residues, or other organic matter. The name “RUF” comes from the  company that developed the technology for producing these briquettes which is now used worldwide.

RUF briquettes are formed by compacting biomass materials under high pressure without using any binders or additives. The resulting briquettes have a uniform shape and density, which makes them convenient to handle, transport, and store. They are commonly used as a renewable energy source for heating, particularly in residential and commercial settings.

These briquettes have several advantages over traditional firewood or loose biomass:

1. High energy density: RUF  have a high energy content due to their dense composition. They provide a consistent and efficient heat output, making them an economical choice for heating purposes.

2. Low moisture content: The manufacturing process of RUF briquettes involves drying the biomass material, resulting in briquettes with low moisture content. Low moisture content means they ignite easily, produce less smoke, and burn more efficiently.

3. Environmentally friendly: RUF briquettes is considered a carbon-neutral fuel source since they are made from renewable biomass materials. When burned, they release roughly the same amount of carbon dioxide that the biomass absorbed during its growth, resulting in a closed carbon cycle.

4. Reduced waste: RUF are often made from byproducts or waste materials generated by industries such as woodworking or agriculture. Using these materials for briquette production helps reduce waste and utilize resources that would otherwise go unused.
